since when do i pre-order microsoft products?

Not only have I never pre-ordered a Microsoft product, I don't believe I've ever bought one at all — at least one that didn't come with a new computer or from the Company Store. Heck, I'm still running XP and Office 2000.

And yet I just put in my pre-order for Windows 7 Professional Upgrade at Amazon with an estimated delivery of Halloween.

The funny thing is I don't even have any concrete plans to buy a new computer, so why do I need a new OS?

But then Core i5 is coming. And SSD prices are dropping. And Lightroom is on sale.

Need more sleep.
