A classic Woody comedy, containing a good balance of funny jokes, strong romantic story, and, most importantly, a likeable Woody Allen character. Unlike some other Woody Allen efforts, this one creates a cohesive world of off-off-off-Broadway lounge acts, both adorable and addictive. He's in his comfort zone, and when he's there, he can be brilliant. It's not quite Annie Hall, but is one of the best of that Golden Decade from Annie Hall to Radio Days.
