After years of on-and-off (mostly off) attempts at finishing a screenplay and novel, it's time to try a different format.

So welcome to AcornsAreBitter, a blog in which I will attempt to point out the obvious about suburban Californian life from the perspective of one unremarkable California native.

Starting with movie and book reviews, I expect I'll soon be ranting about Oakland and the video game industry, retreading pop philosophy, and chronicling the curious black hole that is the experience of being voluntarily unemployed in a neighborhood where a 2BR/1BA house sells for $650,000.

Really, though, it's about learning how to write without having to stare at that goddamned unfinished screenplay all fucking day long. Let me know how I'm doing.
